On November 4, a delegation from the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHS) visited Xishan District for research and exchange, signing a long-term cooperation agreement with Gongyuan Environment on the commercialization of "High-Efficiency Coagulation and Air-Flotation Algae Removal Technology." This collaboration not only demonstrates IHS's commitment to deepening industry-academia integration and accelerating technology transfer, but also reflects Xishan District's focus on innovation-driven development. Attendees included Xie Shouqi, Party Secretary of IHS; Wang Liangwei, Director of the Research Department at CAS Wuhan Branch; Zhang Lin, Member of the Standing Committee of Xishan District Party Committee and Minister of Organization; along with officials from the District Talent Office, Science and Technology Bureau, and Xibei Town. Gongyuan Environment's Chairman and CEO Sun Lianjun attended the event and signed the agreement on behalf of the company.

Secretary Jie Shouqi emphasized that this achievement transformation not only validates past collaborative outcomes but also charts a course for future synergy. He urged deeper collaboration between research institutes and enterprises, as well as between academic institutions and local communities. Seizing this opportunity, we aim to deepen cooperation with Xishan District in technology R&D, equipment optimization, and demonstration projects. Furthermore, we seek to strengthen talent development partnerships, jointly cultivating high-caliber, application-oriented professionals to advance China's environmental protection initiatives.

Minister Zhang Lin highlighted the close collaboration between Xishan District and the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She recalled the March exchange visit to Wuhan's Institute of Hydrobiology by the District Party Committee Organization Department and Xibei Town delegation, commending the institute's profound expertise and innovative vitality as a national strategic scientific force. Noting that Gongyuan Environment, a key Xishan enterprise, has achieved significant results in multiple industry-academia-research projects with the institute, she emphasized that Secretary Xie's recent return visit demonstrates deepening mutual trust and strengthened cooperation. Moving forward, Xishan will uphold the win-win principle to expand collaboration opportunities, earnestly inviting experts to continue supporting Xishan's development through technology transfer and talent cultivation.

Mr.Sun Lianjun, Chairman and General Manager of Gongyuan Environment, introduced the cooperation between Gongyuan Environment and the Institute of Hydrobiology of Chinese Academy of Sciences to the participants.

As early as 2019, Gongyuan Environment partnered with the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Supported by the national "13th Five-Year Plan" water project and in collaboration with the Central Route Bureau of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, they successfully developed an innovative in-situ air flotation system. This system achieved efficient removal of algae in their natural habitat, significantly enhancing drinking water safety. Additionally, the two parties jointly explored and validated solutions for algae resource utilization, ultimately passing the national project acceptance review.

Leveraging its extensive project experience in seawater desalination and algae removal from rivers and lakes, Gongyuan Environment is continuously advancing technological innovation and practical applications. Sun Lianjun stated: "Building on our solid preliminary collaboration, we have now signed a long-term cooperation agreement. With support from the institute and local authorities, Gongyuan Environment will further conduct in-depth research on efficient coagulation and air flotation algae removal technologies. We aim to deepen and expand the industrial application of micro-bubble and air flotation purification technologies, contributing to ecological governance and green circular economy. Through these efforts, we will make new contributions to high-quality socio-economic development with innovative productivity."
